The main aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of cognitive- behavioral family therapy on marital conflict, and sexual satisfaction in couples referred to psychology centers in Shuster city. The research method was semi experimental with pre- protest, fallow- up and control group. The sample was consisted of 30 couples who were matched from age, educational status, duration of marriage, not suffering from acute physical and mental disorders and other criteria considered in this research. Then randomly divided in to two groups as experimental and control (15 couples in experimental group and 15 couples in control group, respectively). The instruments were Marital Conflict (MCQ) and Sexual Satisfaction Questionnaire (SSQ). Both groups were tested before the intervention. Then experimental group administered 8 sessions of cognitive- behavioral family therapy but the control group did not receive any intervention. Data were analyzed by multi- variable analysis of covariance (MANCOVA). The results indicated that cognitive- behavioral family significantly affected marital conflict, couple burnout and sexual satisfaction in experimental group. The results significantly persisted after one month of follow- up.
